WORLD — Territory

One-line pitch: WORLD is where you claim land near venues. Owning territory earns you VITUS (creator credits) every time someone distributes to it.

What this is

WORLD is the territory system. Once you find a QING you like, you can call Code() to plant your flag in the area around it. You become a creator/landowner for that region.

When the QING's owner (or anyone with rights) runs a distribution, WORLD walks its land registry and pays out VITUS proportional to holdings. Think of it like receiving royalties on a piece of virtual land next to a thriving venue.

If you've played a web3 game before

  • Closest analogy: The Sandbox / Decentraland parcels — own land near popular spots, earn from foot traffic.
  • Or: Axie land — territorial holdings with passive yield.
  • Or: an NFT royalty stream tied to venue activity rather than secondary sales.
Dysnomia term What it maps to
Code() The "claim land" call
Cauda ("tail") The list of coordinate-IDs you own
Yeo The max range (set by META) within which you can claim around a QING
Creators The table of who owns what at each tile
Whitelist Per-creator allow-list for distributions

What you actually do with it

  • Claim territoryCode(qingAddress). You plant a claim on a tile near the QING. The claim size and rewards come from META.Beat().
  • Distribute rewards — if you're entitled (venue owner, whitelisted creator), call Distribute-style functions to pay VITUS out to all holders.
  • Tail check — query your Cauda to see every tile you own.
  • Whitelist management — control who you let distribute through your holdings.

Rewards / costs

  • Cost: gas to Code. No protocol fee.
  • Reward: VITUS at claim time (via META's Dione output) and a share of every subsequent distribution to territory you hold.

Requirements & gating

  • The tile you're trying to claim must be within the QING's Yeo range — out-of-range calls revert OutOfRange.
  • The target must actually be a QING registered on MAP.
  • You must have a working YUE (rewards are paid into it) and appropriate opt-ins via CHAN.

Where it connects

WORLD reads MAP to validate that the target is a real QING, META to compute claim range (Yeo), payouts (Dione) and Charge, and pays out via CHEON into your YUE. Rewards are denominated in VITUS.

Quick FAQ

Q: How do I pick where to claim? A: You don't pick exact coordinates — you pass a QING, and WORLD figures out which tile near it you're claiming. The result depends on the QING's position and your state (via META's math).

Q: Can multiple people own the same tile? A: Yes — holdings at a tile are per-owner. You and I can both have claims at the same coordinate; we split the distribution proportionally.

Q: What's "Cauda"? A: Latin for "tail" — a running list of coordinate-IDs you've ever claimed. Your portfolio of land, in other words.

Q: Do I need to defend my territory? A: Not directly — claims don't time out on their own. But WAR activity and Beat() dynamics can shift the economics around your tiles.

Q: Why is WORLD paid in VITUS specifically? A: VITUS is the "creator credit" currency of the ecosystem — territory ownership is the primary way it's minted. It's the landowner's dividend token.
